It's been a while since I've caught up on everything here, so I'm gonna catch up in one year end post.
This fall was great, Archer Spade played some great shows with Toshimaru Nakamura and I did my first tour with Chris Forsyth's Solar Motel Band. Both groups have tours coming up in the first couple months of 2015. Check out my upcoming dates for details on the Archer Spade Scandinavian tour and Solar Motel's January jaunt through the Southeast.
This year I released a lot of albums! You can check out some of them on my Bandcamp page here:
http://nickmillevoi.bandcamp.com
The ones that aren't there are the Haitian Rail Solarists record which is available at http://www.newatlantisrecords.com and the Form and Mess record, which is available at http://sickroomrecords.com/.

I also have a few releases coming up! In the next few months I have three releases that I'm involved with to be released:
-Archer Spade's new record featuring compositions by Mick Barr, Dave Soldier, Gene Coleman, Johnny DeBlase and ourselves will be released on CD by Mulatta Records
-Many Arms + Toshimaru Nakamura will be released on CD by Public Eyesore
-Dead Neanderthals + Nick Millevoi Dietary Restrictions will be released in limited quantities on tape by Obsedante, recorded live in Berlin during our tour together

Also, here's a few nice reviews:

Mid-summer update
It's been a busy summer and I've got lots of exciting stuff going on. Since my last post, I've been on tour around the Midwest with Many Arms, had the new Haitian Rail record released, and played the first shows with Form and Mess.
Here's a summary of all the excitement:
I was featured on Miguel Copon's great blog, Prepared Guitar, which features a pretty serious collection of everything I've done: http://preparedguitar.blogspot.com/2014/07/nick-millevoi-13-questions.htmlI'm now a featured artist of Augustine strings, which I've been using on my Creston Telecaster: http://albertaugustine.com/artist/nickmillevoi.html
Haitian Rail (Edward Ricart, Dan Blacksberg, Kevin Shea, and myself) released our album, Solarists, in July. Burning Ambulance premiered our video, directed by Dylan Pecora, over here in advance of the release: http://burningambulance.com/2014/07/23/haitian-rail/
Here's the video (full screen viewing recommended!):
We also received pretty great reviews from:
Something Else! - http://somethingelsereviews.com/2014/07/20/haitian-rail-solarists-2014/
Wondering Sound - http://www.wonderingsound.com/news/new-jazz-week-azar-lawrence-adam-lanes-full-throttle-orchestra/
Odyshape - http://www.odyshape.com/blog/2014/7/28/listening-notes-ultra-brief-pt-139
More news is on the way, including the release of the Form and Mess record, which will be out on Sick Room Records at the end of August.
I'll be playing with Brandon Lopez in Philly on August 23 at Kung Fu Necktie with Dama/Libra, USCO, and Air is Human, and then on August 30 with a free jazz party band I put together called BUGOUT! at Pageant Soloveev on a bill with Bill Nace/Steve Baczkowski.
Fall dates will be posted soon!

Haitian Rail Release Shows and Press
Last weekend, I played four record release shows for Haitian Rail with Ed Ricart, Dan Blacksberg, and Kevin Shea. The shows were a lot of fun and the music really developed into something different each night.
In Philadelphia, Kinan Faham filmed our entire set, which you can check out here:
We also received some really great press from the Philadelphia City Paper:
And a nice preview from TimeOut New York:
Haitian Rail is available on tape from New Atlantis Records, and on orange vinyl LP from Gaffer Records, or from me ($6/tape, $17/LP postage paid) via PayPal (nick.millevoi gmail).

Wire Tapper
April's copy of Wire magazine's Wire Tapper CD has a track from the forthcoming Millevoi/Ricart Quartet album, Haitian Rail.
Here's what they have to say:
Millevoi/Ricart 4tet
“Solarism” (Wire Tapper edit)
from Haitian Railroad
(Gaffer)
Philadelphia based guitarist Nick Millevoi teams up with bass player Ed Ricart, saxophonist Travis Laplante and drummer Ches Smith in a quartet which succeeds where many free jazz/improvised music groups have failed before by generating a vibrant, energic and smart music from an old recipe. “Solarism” is perhaps their most violent track, an object lesson in how free improvised music should sound when played with authenticity and sincerity.

Testin'
Many Arms just got back from a short tour up north. When we were in Toronto, our good friend Colin Fisher sat in on tenor sax for our set and destroyed. We're going to be recording in January and we're SO STOKED to rock with Colin this time around.
I received my test copy of In White Sky today and it sounds awesome. No official release date soon, but keep an eye here and at The Flenser for some news.
Also, Haitian Rail, the album I did with Ed Ricart, Travis Laplante, and Ches Smith, will be released in early 2013 on Gaffer Records on LP!
Many Arms got a great review in Dusted by Brad Cohan and Black Figure of a Bird was just reviewed along side the other New Atlantis releases on Terrascope. Johnny DeBlase's Quartet album, Composites, was reviewed over at Something Else!, home of one of my favorite music columns, Steely Dan Sunday.
